Sheila Peckford has twelve years of experience with hospital management and was instrumental in the development of programs for emergency response, emergency triage, peer review, infection control, risk management and safety, including hazardous chemicals, waste management and environmental monitoring.
Sheila’s Professional Qualifications include; Registered Nurse (Canadian Boards), Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Quality Manager with the American Society for Quality, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality with the US National Association Healthcare Quality and ISO 9000 Lead Assessor (RAB/IRCA Accredited Training)
A significant amount of Sheila’s international healthcare experience has been in supporting the implementation of international accreditation programs and standards from institutions such as the Joint Commission for Hospital Accreditation (US), ISO healthcare certification, the Canadian Association for Hospital Accreditation and the Australian Hospital Accreditation Association.
Sheila’s diverse expertise is applicable to such areas as testing and reference laboratories, pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturers, medical device manufacturers and healthcare facilities. Sheila has expertise in conducting operational and compliance audits related to such areas as blood collection, testing laboratories, stem cell collection and processing of unrelated bone marrow donor programs. This expertise applies to supply chain management of health care related suppliers and medical device manufacturers and she was instrumental in obtaining regulatory approval for a master validation plan for the CBS’s blood center.
