Lake Stewardship
Lake Plan
Our lake plan for Malcolm and Ardoch Lakes is at its infancy stage. The key driver for us right now is to develop a lake plan that will help us ensure development of our lakes is in keeping with the capacity of the lakes itself for fishing and recreation and protection of endangered species (plant, animal, reptiles and fish). We have been conducting water tests for two years now and will be expanding the program to cover more testing of Ardoch Lake and waste disposal areas. In addition we have identified species at risk in our immediate area and need to verify that these species exist in and around Ardoch and Malcolm Lakes.
The species at risk for our area are as follows; and click on the species to see more details.
Birds
Plant
Reptile
Animal
The lake plan document will be available mid-summer this year. We urge all landowners to assist in identification of these species and mapping their locations. The exception to mapping will be the American Ginseng as this plant is in high demand in the underground market and therefore if we identify these plants we will not publish their existence or location in a public forum.
